touched.
11:01 PM

emotional (positive) input today. this might turn out to be a huge post. so if you don't like long posts, just scroll down for pictures.

woke up at 5.45 am today. really exhausted, but forced myself to take a shower, to dress up and to style my hair (which actually looks good, miraculously.)

met huining @ Bukit Gombak at around nearly 7 am. took the long ride all the way to pasir ris, then walked to coasta sands.

relaxed abit in the macdonalds and had huining help me write my name in katakana. which is ’ウエイン’. then headed out and its the gathering of the guides. i got group 10! (10 班) and my schedule is actually quite nice. Singapore Zoological Garden, Suntec City, Orchard Road.

so we headed out! but of course, i did an awkward introduction.

'お早う。。僕は’ウエイン’です。よるしくお願いします。’

but of course, my name is kinda weird sounding, so they refered to the katakana to pronounce it. they all bowed quite awkwardly, we all dont know what to do. so i just led the way towards the bus stop. it was quiet throughout, i didn't spoke a word.

when i reached the interchange, i brought them to buy the ticket. they're pretty amazed by the ezlink card and tapping system.

so while i was pressing the buttons for them (they just have to slot in the money themselves), Shuri-chan bought one ticket, then quickly took it, then held the ticket out to me. i was.. shocked. i practically stunned there for a few seconds before telling her its okay and i have my own already. (luckily one of them havent buy it, so she passed it to her friend)

so we boarded the train, one of their schoolmate was pretty hysterical and giggling away, so i looked at her and smiled. lol

headed to mandai zoo, they walked wherever they want (basically we only went to see the white tiger, babirusa, rhinos, hippo). Then they said they want to go shopping! 買い物~

so we headed to orchard road (yeah, they were all very tired. but they all became energetic =) )

we had lunch together, then brought them around to buy clothes and stuffs.

and when its finally time, we headed to DFS. when we reached the entrance, i checked out with the co-ordinator. then they turned to me and made a really deep bow, saying 'ありがとうございます!’

at that moment, i was extremely overwhelmed. i bowed back and said thanks in japanese back, awkwardly. i was very stunned. (deep bows means alot of respect, especially to people in the same age group).

then the co-ordinator spoke to them in fluent japanese, then turned back to me and said they want to take pictures together.

and then, we took alot of pictures. most of the pictures are with them actually. one of their schoolmates ran to me and we took pictures as well.

well, when you look at the pictures. you will realise im smiling awkwardly. because i was caught in a mixed feeling.

then me and Hui Ning sat at the lobby area there to rest, and to pei me wait until my friends reach vivo city. so while sitting there, Saki-chan, Mirei-chan and Eri-chan damn cute. They walked rounds and rounds, then everytime they see me they'll call out my name and wave. Its very heartwarming, seriously.

then afterawhile, its time to leave. I couldn't see my group around, so i left. (We all already bade farewell very early, which pulled my heartstring when i said bye bye and sayonnara.)

oh, and i got Hui Ning to stop one of the japanese students to take picture with me too. haha!

then i went to vivo, do projects with daryl, lynn, sarah and arina. had a good dinner and deserts. (effectively spending all my money from today).

さきーちゃん、えりーちゃん、みれいーちゃん、ちひろーちゃん、しゅりーちゃん、今日の事本当にありがとう!

extremely touched today, made me even cry when i reached home.

i've realised that, despite being from different country, speaking in different tongues. when you overcome the barrier and made friends. it is truly beautiful. it is something i've never experienced in Singapore.

exchanged emails with them, hopefully will be able to keep in contact. =)
